Was in a wreck on Tuesday. Very very sore, but otherwise okay. Not my fault, so that's good.

Finally got my rental car today. I keep calling it a Chevy Kobold instead of a Chevy Cobalt. I hate it already. Too bad I can't trade it in tomorrow for something better. Oh well, long weekend, that's a good thing. Maybe I can get something that actually has cruise control on Saturday.

I'm going to go try to make fancy cupcakes. Let's hope Jack's totally uninformed assumption about my cooking is accurate.

Wow, it's been a long time. I've been posting over in insanejournal. But I have some news!

Biggset news: Nathan and I bought a house! He got a job in Southwest Missouri. We close at the end of July, and we'll move into it in mid-August. Pictures of my house! )

Less Big News:
-I really like 4th edition D&D. It's all streamlined and kickass and fun. 3.5 was fun too, of course, but I'm really digging this new one.

-I've been working out again. Hard to get motivated and keep going everyday, but I want to get back in shape for that damnable catsuit I need to wear in August. (Cosplaying as Liara from Mass Effect at Gen Con).

-Nathan and I are going to be taking a motorcycle safety course when we move. Since it's at the college he teaches at, it will be free for us both. We plan on getting motorcycles sometime later this year. Very exciting stuff.

I think that's the big stuff. I could ramble about things like quilting, but I doubt many of you would be interested in that.

Oh, hey, [info]wiliqueen, would you have any costuming suggestions for making this head thingy? Right now we just have some squishy foam stuff and a hot knife, and I'm kinda worried about the texture, and how to make it look like skin. Ideas?

I can't wait for vacation. Looking forward to seeing people in Louisiana again. Not looking forward to the humidity, but the food. The FOOD. I can't wait.

And I'm totally excited to introduce Tachi to everyone. Nathan asked if it was cool if we bring him over to your place to hang, right Tim?

Petition to stop Uwe Boll

Please, for the love of god, sign it. Boll said that he would stop making movies if a million people signed a petition. Right now it's at 297,291. We can do this, people!

Sure, he might not keep his word. But it might make you feel better.

Hee. I just caught Tachi trying to eat a Drow. I think he knows they're evil.

He seems to be doing better this morning. He finished his food and he's playing around some. Ran around the room so fast and crazy that he unplugged my computer.

Boo to early days. Waking up at 3:30 is never fun.

Been having issues getting my license renewed and shit. Tried leaving early today, but there was an accident in the exact same spot there has been one for the past 4 days and I got there 15 min after they closed. Gonna have to leave work super early tomorrow.

Dear St. Louis Drivers,

I know you are super desperate to get to the mall. omgz, it's like, the mall! But if you could stay on the road and not slam into each other while you're scrambling to buy those last minute gifts? That would be awesome. The rest of us are trying to do grown up things.

So you know how wedding magazines are huge and are only published every 3 months or so? Well I was at the store and the summer issue of one of them was out.. And it had Jennifer Morrison on the cover being all Super-Happy Cameron. And the text said "She's marrying her costar!"

God, how awkward must that be? Take it off the shelves~~~

I had another dream about Cillian Murphy last night. hee.

Okay, sorry, random string of thoughts. I think I'm done now.

I live.

Not a whole lot of interesting stuff happening over here. Reading X-Factor, and listening to Dark Tower at work. I am (finally) on the last book. Listening to Stephen King's journaly bits makes me want to start writing again. Really writing. It's been a long time; I'm not really sure where to begin.

CRAAAAAP. I'm missing a chapter in my Nano. My laptop got wiped, and apparently I didn't have it saved here. So I got it off my nanoLJ but apparently I didn't post chapter 13?? What is wrong with me?!

I have a hard copy somewhere. Somewhere. GORRAMMIT!

I was going to do an audio recording. Sam said he'd listen to it, but not read it. And I could include Nathan's little song. And it would be fun. BUT I AM MISSING A CHAPTER! *SPAZZES*

Okay. Anyway. I've had this ongoing health thingy dealing with shortness of breath.. some of you have probably heard me mention it before. And I've been seeing all these doctors and they're confused and all.

Saw a pulmonologist (finally) and he thinks it's hyperventilation. "Subtle" hyperventilation. I'm hyperventilating... at a normal breathing rate. He thinks I'm not getting enough carbon dioxide when I breathe. But it might not be stress related. They don't know why.

More tests on Monday and hopefully they will figure out more.

But yes. Slowly hyperventilating. My body is as insane as my mind.

A patient asked me out today. That was kinda creepy. But there was cute earlier. A little 8 year-old girl at McDonald's looked at me and said to her grandma "She looks cute." I was wearing my Marvel scrubs, which Grandma pointed out. "Yeah, she has the heroes on her shirt." Hee.

Must be the red nail polish. (GO CARDS! It's not slutty when it's team spirit~)

Oh, hey. I'm trying to make this.. I have more pictures if they would help. Valerie or Emily? Any suggestions? I can't even find a pattern for a one-piece jumpsuit thing... I mean, it's the same basic thing as an X-wing pilot suit, just with different fabric. I'll have to make something up for the vest, but I'd like to have something to start with for the flight suit itself.

Talking to Harry. Still at the hospital at Fort Bragg. He got a Purple Heart. Man, getting injured and getting a Purple Heart the day before getting sent home..

Had some swelling of the brain. It's gone down now. He sounds okay; he's talking coherently and everything. He also sprained something in his arm, but that's not really bothering him besides the itchiness of the bandage.

Poor guy is really traumatized, though, from the stuff he saw. Seeing little kids get blown up in car bombs, seeing men beating their wives out in public, watching his friends get killed. Just. Not good. And, I mean.. He was over there during the first Gulf War and this just. I think it was a lot harder for him this time.

And Emily, you know how you were talking about having another guy there with him? Yeah, he's already on that. He has a guy from the 501st that's, like, 7 feet tall that has already offered to be his advocate, and whatnot.

Valerie, he says Hello. And also reminded me that I should talk to you about my Battlestar Galactica costume.

Joined a gym and started working out. Going 5 days a week, and doing the whole thing with the machines and everything. Also trying to do an ab class, but that is decidedly less fun.

Had allergy testing yesterday. Very not-fun. Arms are still itchy itchy and welts. The surprising thing was that I'm not allergic to any of the pollens they tested for.. Well, a tiny bit, but not really. I'm allergic to cats... gee, never would've guessed that. That welt pretty much took up my entire forearm. Also allergic to dogs. ;_; I kinda sorta knew that. But yeah. Allergic to all these molds and they still itch and grrr it's like having 37 mosquito bites in a synchronized pattern along my arm.

Very not happy with this Megan-chick at work. Gonna have to lay the smack-down on her. Long story.

Harry's coming home. There was an incident. Like.. mental breakdown sort of stuff... Also (after they decided he was going home) he was slammed into a wall by a mortar bombing and might've gotten a concussion.. But he's doing okay on that, I think. Pretty crazy, though, he was knocked out and then he woke up on a helicopter headed out of Iraq to Germany.

Exhausted now. Sleeptime. And I will wake up early and go do yoga class, and then cardio, and then machinesness. Woot.

Oh! And I have a new phone number. Comment for it, or something.

1) Make a list of 15 characters first, and keep it to yourself for the moment. (That way you're not leading the questions asked to fit the characters.)

2) Ask your flist to post questions.

For example:

"4, 6, 12 & 15 are starting a band together, what is their name and what kind of music do they play? Also, who's the lead singer, and what instruments do the others play?"

3) See if they can guess who they are from your answers.

(Dude, leave as many as you want.)

Goddamnit.

Patients were scheduled till 4:30 today. I was there till 7:15. Some borderline patient (various obscenities deleted) spent AN HOUR AND A HALF ranting at me and trying to convince me to tell him it was okay to ignore what the doctor said and give him medicine she didn't want him to have. I kept telling him to just go (Doc wanted him to go to the hospital because HE IS FUCKING OUT OF HIS MIND and he didn't want to go) but he wouldn't fracking leave the office.

And he was the only patient, it was like, 7pm, and it was just ridiculous. He kept walking to the door, standing there for a minute with his hand on the doorknob, then turning around and coming back to rant at me more. The doctor eventually had to buzz out to me and tell me to call 911 if he wouldn't go. I didn't have to call, because he heard her say it and left.

And this guy is so non-compliant. He just takes his medicine however he feels like it. He has a whole drawer of meds that he was Rxed at one time and DC'd (mostly on his own) and so he's like 'Well, I felt like the Zoloft wasn't really helping, so instead I took half a Zoloft and a quarter of a Lexapro, and I just feel like crap today.' And he's abusing Lorazepam and it's just.. Gah. How is a doctor supposed to help someone who won't listen to any of her instructions?

He calls every day, pages the doctor two or three times over the weekend, and every time he calls it's at least a 20 minute call, I repeat myself 10 times and he just sits there.

Just. Gah. Hate people.

It was so good! Very close to the book. Just one big deviation, and even that was decently done..

I really really liked that they showed listening to Goldberg Variations. It's his favorite piece of music, you know, and was in The Silence of the Lambs. I don't recall it being in the book, but that MAY have been because.. you know.. that particular version hadn't been recorded at the time when the book and movie took place.. But it was still awesome!

Nathan really should know better than to give me a new breed of puppies to research. I've been cooing over Basenji's for the past two hours. I want a doggie!

Work gave me a 60 cent raise (Usually she only gives .50 at the 90 day review). She told me she was doing it to try to keep me. She doesn't want me going somewhere else. Hm. Now to decide if the job is worth an extra $20 a week. Hmm.

Going to keep looking. A position actually opened up at Nathan's school for a front desk person. We could carpool, and such. Could be neat. Maybe if they pay more than what I've got now.

Maybe I'll be able to live with this job until we move, or I go back to school. We'll see. My Emma-Doctor was trying to encourage me to go to med school. She knows I'm wanting to get my masters and do therapy, and she mentioned the possibility of me coming back to work there as a therapist. I think that would be really cool. Hee. She would refer me people, because she loves me. And they would be like 'WTF aren't you a receptionist? Why are you doing therapy?' It would be awesome.

Rant #2..

Seroquel's new starter packs are completely idiotic. They have one 50mg tab, one 100mg tab, one 200mg tab and one 300mg tab. It's totally useless if you're trying to titrate someone up (if you titrated someone that fast they would be hospitalized and you would be sued for malpractice) and it's completely idiotic to give to anyone already taking a dose because it's just one pill their dose in a pack.

Wag of my finger to AstraZeneca.

Kinda review thingy... Of course I have to buy the new Gwen Stefani album. Tragic Kingdom was the first CD I actually owned, (ie. belonging to ME, not the family, etc.) So even though it's been going Rock Steadily downhill for a while, I still keep buying because.. Well.. I have no willpower when it comes to her.

Pros:

- I really do like the sampling of Sound of Music. It's cheesy, but I really dig it. It's fun and I like it.

- I like 'Yummy..' at least the main refrain/verse 'I'm feeling yummy head to toe' part thing. It has videogame-esque sounds that I really enjoy.

Cons:

- I hate how every fracking song mentions her clothing line L.A.M.B. Write music, not ads, okay?

- 'Breaking Up' has the stupidest lyrics I have heard in a long, long time. Just because 'Spiderwebs' mentions phone-related things and was an awesome song does NOT mean you can or should write an entire song about how your cell phone gets bad reception. I do not care. No one cares. Stop it; That was the stupidest piece of shit I have ever heard.

- On that same note, all of the lyrics are pretty subpar. They seem really juvenile and not creative at all.

- The music, as in the melodies and all, aren't really very original or interesting, either.

Conclusion: Can we go back to 1995, please?
